Assignment #1 - Scavenger Hunt

You will be viewing three images that I have taken of a friend, a dad and a tree, respectively. The first image you will view in the series is my RAW image, the second image is the image I lightly edited in Adobe Lightroom, and the third image I have also edited in Adobe Lightroom, in an attempt to make you sick as you view.

I thoroughly enjoyed this assignment, especially as a first-time-photographer. The assortment of things to find on this "scavenger hunt" gave me a wide range of things to take photos of and to get a feel of how different things are so different to photograph. I did not enjoy taking photos of animals. The dogs were crazy and I could not get them to be still or even capture a good "action" shot. I prefer to photograph people. I feel there is just so much emotion and feeling from a person. 

I got to experience different lighting settings as well. It gave me an opportunity to discover the importance of the camera settings and being able to decide what settings to put your camera on, in order to capture what you are wanting. 

I also enjoyed the time I had to discover Adobe Lightroom a bit more. I hadn't used this software prior to this assignment and felt rudimentarily confident with it by the end of the project. I enjoy the software and plan to use it more in the future (I used to only believe in Photoshop!). I found that all week I was thinking about other things that would've made a great photo. I carried my camera around all weekend and asked strangers and friends if I could use them as models. I felt like I looked at everything a little bit differently.
